How Strategic Visual Narratives Build Brand Trust Across Every Industry

Los Angeles-based agency Department of Wonder contacted me recently to produce lifestyle and food photography photos and video for their client, Hood Dairy. Hood had partnered with celebrity chef Karen Akunowicz to promote their products via a promotional campaign on social media. Akunowicz is the chef and proprietor of Fox & the Knife enoteca in Boston, which has been named to several best new restaurants lists. She also appeared on Top Chef season 13 and competed in Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions TV show on Food Network.

By blending high-end food styling with authentic lifestyle moments, we created a narrative that positioned Hood Dairy not just as a staple in the fridge, but as a key ingredient in professional-grade recipes. These visuals weren’t just about showing a product, they were about building brand trust by associating Hood with the mastery and reputation of a world-class chef. Video was provided by Sam Sacks of Wormtown Productions. See sample images below and here. Have any lifestyle or food photography needs? Let’s talk!

My client, Boston Dynamics, reached out to me recently to do an on-site product lifestyle photoshoot of its popular go-anywhere inspection robot, Spot and the new Spot Station. Spot Station was designed to give Spot a safe refuge from the elements as well as to provide it with a reliable charging station. By capturing these units in a real-world environment, we moved the conversation away from “robotics” and toward reliability and autonomy. For Spot to transition from being viewed as a futuristic robot to being viewed as a trusted workplace tool, the visual narrative had to shift into the reality of the field. Placing the Spot Station in its natural industrial habitat proves its durability to customers. Also, photographing Spot entering the Station, we evoke a sense of safety and preparedness. Spot is no longer viewed as just a machine, it’s a dependable team member that knows when to “rest” and recharge for the next mission.

Electronics Manufacturer, Accutronics, hired me recently to do a location lifestyle photography shoot at their plant located in Chelmsford, MA. Our goal was to highlight their manufacturing capabilities through photos of staff at work at various machines across their 31,000 square foot facility. Shooting in a massive manufacturing environment comes with its own set of obstacles, like balancing the light of monitor screens with overhead industrial lighting, and working around the hum of active production, but this also helps to make it even more authentic. The staff were wonderful and helped showcase the machines functioning in the workplace, making for great photos that Accutronics can use for their website and content. See sample images below and on my website or contact me to learn more.

He was hired by Precision Technologies to help them make a bigger splash with online sales. I had the opportunity recently to work alongside New York City photographer and headshot guru Peter Hurley during his Boston workshop this past September. Me and other local photographers spent the weekend fine-tuning our lighting and posing skills to achieve the highest quality headshot photography with the help of local area models.
